DOUBLE TAKE- DOUBLE EXPOSURE with D-SLR cameras

One of the short courses I am offering on the MEET_UP website
                                                                                                              PHOTO CLASH
covered DOUBLE EXPOSURE with digital cameras.

With a model it`s very playful but it also works with CITY COLLAGES.
Composition becomes a play for strategic framing, it takes a while.

This is a combination of a portrait against the bright sky and a found sign inside a shop.

Some camera even let you take a base image and then you can look for a suitable double and place it a bit later.

PHOTO SUMMER COURSE 2015 docu Day 2

DAY 2

We`ve met in SOHO and discussed the camera control: APERTURE.
This is nearly always number two on my list of modes and controls on D-SLR cameras for day 2.

The VISUAL LANGUAGE options you can get with  different Apertures is wonderful and ranges from very ATMOSPHERIC  DETAIL shots
to carefully COMPOSED CITY REPORTAGE images
 All images by students.

Set HOMEWORK was to

1. Think BLACK & WHITE and cropping for composition

2. See if you have an image you could use for a magazine page and add text to it:

It was a very successful day and
the results form the home work detected the hidden talents the girls had.

TEENAGER summer PHOTO COURSE 2015

In 2015 I was approached by parents, if I could teach their teenagers

HOW TO USE A DIGITAL CAMERA and in general basic things about

the USE OF VISUAL LANGUAGE.

We came up with a suitable pace of theory and practice for the girls and hoped to cover as much London sightseeing on the way, SOHO, CAMDEN, KENSINGTON here we come.

DAY 1:

Intro to the D-SLR in general

It does not matter what kind of make or model you have, the basics are the same and can be easily translated.
First task to tackle the camera controls: SHUTTER SPEED

Here we have an image by one of the students using PANNING as a technique to frame the shot and a particular shutter speed to get a handle on the movement.
